Maxim Bakaev is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as the Head of the Department of Data Collection and Processing Systems at Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), Russia. He earned his PhD in Software Engineering from NSTU, complementing his earlier dual degrees—with distinction—in Management Information Systems from NSTU and a Master of Design in Digital Media Design from Kyungsung University, South Korea.
Since joining NSTU, Maxim has held several key academic positions, including Associate Professor and Senior Researcher. His diverse experience also spans administrative roles and industry leadership, which enrich his interdisciplinary approach to research and education.
Maxim’s research interests include human-computer interaction, machine learning, data quality, visual perception, and user interface design. He has led multiple research projects funded by prestigious organizations such as the RFBR and DAAD, contributing to over 150 publications and establishing a solid reputation in his fields of expertise. Additionally, Maxim actively engages with the international academic community by reviewing for major conferences and journals, further underscoring his commitment to advancing technology and education.
