The International Symposium on Computer Science and Educational Technology (ISCSET) event began with a summer school between two universities in 2011. From year to year, the event attracted more universities and established partnerships between universities from Mongolia, Germany, Russia, and China in 2014. Later, the summer school was extended to a symposium level. Many participants of our previous event still keep in contact with us, and we enjoy following their personal and career development. The ISCSET research scope covers the three main directions Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Educational Technology. In the last two decades, technologies have developed rapidly and have enabled the usage of various types of technologies in all fields of science and industry. In relation to this, many changes have occurred in the teaching and learning process. To support technology development, we need excellent engineers and scientists. Therefore, higher education, especially engineering education, needs to apply modern methods and technologies in teaching. From our perspective, these three directions are very important in the above-listed issues and we are looking forward to hearing ongoing projects and future ideas in these fields.
From 05 to 07 July the 12th International Symposium on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Educational Technology (ISCSET) was successfully organized in IBS Foundation, Lauta/Laubusch, Germany. The ISCSET 2023 was more than just papers; it was a dynamic symposium that featured engaging keynote presentations, thought-provoking talks by invited speakers as well as lively paper presentations. We had participants from 18 countries: Germany, Mongolia, China, France, Jordan, Algeria, Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Tunis, Pakistan and Syria. Thus, with ISCSET 2023 we celebrated a true global convergence of knowledge and ideas. This time ISCSET 2023 utilized the EasyChair conference management platform for paper submissions. Each submission underwent thorough review by three esteemed professors and researchers from our partner universities, resulting in 27 submissions with an acceptance rate of 62 percent. Our keynote speakers illuminated the event with their expertise: Prof. Dr. Ing. Hazem Wannous from the University of Lille, France, explored the fascinating realm of "Unveiling Human Behavior: Exploring Human-Centered AI through Vision Data Analysis". Prof. Dr. Thomas Koehler from TU Dresden, Germany, delved into "The Future of Teaching with AI", bridging the gap between research-driven predictions and groundbreaking teaching technologies. Last but not least, Dr. Michael Reinhardt, Head of OpenIT Studio at Siemens Healthineers, inspired us with "Co-Creating Gamification Solutions for Employees", demonstrating Design Thinking and LowCode-based rapid prototyping at Siemens Healthineers. Our invited talks were equally enlightening: Prof. Dr. Christian Mercat from Université Claude Bernard Lyon, France, shared insights on "<colette/> to Foster Computational Thinking in Students", while Prof. Dr. Haibin Wu from Harbin University of Science and Technology, China, explored "Computer Vision Based on 3D Construction".
From 24 to 26 October the 11th International Symposium on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Educational Technology (ISCSET) was successfully conducted in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The symposium, originally initiated by the Professorship of Computer Engineering of the TU Chemnitz and Mongolian University of Science and Technology, was hosted this year by the new partners of the European Medical University (EMU) University of Tashkent and organized in cooperation with the TU Chemnitz. The long-standing regular partners from Harbin University of Science and Technology, China have been represented in large numbers. During three days scholars, professors and students from Germany, Mongolia, China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan presented their ongoing studies and research outcomes. The 11th Symposium was organized for the first time in hybrid format. International participants and local participants participated in presence while more than 40 participants and international presenters took part to the event from distance in online mode. The TU Chemnitz has been represented by five participants, while two have been invited Talks. In Summary, the Audience received interesting presentations from various fields of computer science, computer engineering, hardware Acceleration, E-Learning and AI application.
10th years anniversary of International Symposium on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Educational Technology (ISCSET 2021) was organized in online format due to the pandemic situation in the world from 10 to 12 November in Germany. This year, professors, researchers, doctoral and master students from Germany, Mongolia, Russia, China, Japan, Portugal, Bangladesh, Morocco, Syria, India and Kazakhstan took part in the symposium. Main focus of ISCSET 2021 is research and education during COVID-19, challenges and solutions during pandemic period. Highlight of ISCSET 2021 was Greetings of participants from all previous years to 10th years anniversary. This showed that the main aim of the symposium is reaching their target to communicate scholars, professors and young researchers of different universities all together not only for symposium days. Through these 10 years all participants still kept their connection and networking and develop together in better career and successful sciences. Some participants invited ISCSET to move Uzbekistan in next year, that was the one of highlight of this year.
This year, professors and researcher with Science Doctorate of Science, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Germany, Mongolia, Russia, USA, Portugal, Japan, Bangladesh, Morocco, Syria and Philippines took part in the 9th edition of the symposium: ISCSET 2020. While this year’s symposium took place at a time of a new normal brought by the Covid – 19 pandemic that has ravaged the world, it brought together leading researchers in the fields of Computer Science and Education Technologies in order to discuss theories, practices, exchange ideas and introduce outcomes of innovative research. Highlight of this year was new interested partner university from Kazakhstan. The ENU sent request to Steering committee on membership of ISCSET future series events.
International Symposium on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Educational Technology has long history. Since 2012 this international event annually organized by IBS foundation and started to attract many researchers from different countries. First started as cooperation of TU Chemnitz, Germany with Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Mongolia, later extended by Novosibirsk State Technical University, Russia and Harbin University of Science and Technology, China. These four universities successfully cooperating under umbrella ISCSET series events. This year participants join from Germany, Mongolia, Russia, China, Portugal, Bangladesh, India, Syria, Morocco and Egypt and first time organized as international symposium. This Symposium partially supported by project “DrIVE-MATH – Development of Innovative Mathematical Teaching Strategies in European Engineering Degrees”.
International Summer School on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Education Technologies took place in Novosibirsk, Russia from 12th to 18th of August, 2018 the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) is main organizer of this annual summer school in this year. This year, professors, researchers, doctoral and master students from Germany, Mongolia, Russia, China took part in the symposium. The main purpose of the ISCSET is to support researchers and students in presenting their ideas to the international community, strengthening international relations and scientific relations among participating universities, collect new experiences from different scientist and cultures, to share own ideas in international community and to learn from one to others.
The International Summer School on Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Education Technologies (ISCSET) held in Chemnitz and Laubusch (Germany) from 3rd to 7th July 2017. Main goal of this Summer School is to support researchers and students to present their ongoing research ideas to the community. International professors, researchers and industrial experts are invited for key notes and lectures. Key topics are image processing, education technologies, embedded systems and applied computer engineering. This year, professors, researchers, doctoral and master students from Germany, Mongolia, Russia, China took part in the symposium. This year Harbin University of Science and Technology offered to extend international summer school to international symposium level.
The Summer School 2016 with the theme of Information and Communication Technology took place from 11.07. to 15.07.2016 in Harbin China. Research works of the partner universities from China, Germany, Mongolia and Russia were presented. The core topic of all presentations was information and communication technology from different perspectives. The guest lecture was given by Prof. Dr. Christoph Igel on the topic "Industry 4.0 + Education = Education 4.0 Learning and working in the age of digitalization and the Internet of Things". One of the main goals of this regular annual event is to give students and young scientists the opportunity for active scientific exchange on an international level. This year first time signed official agreement between four partner universities on support of international summer school.
The Summer School 2015 took place from 29.06. to 01.07.2015 in Laubusch. Students, PhD students and scientists from Mongolia, Germany, Russia, Turkey and India participated. Topics of this year's summer school were: E-learning, Embedded Systems and International Cooperations between the partner universities. For the first time, Mongolian Bachelor students participated as well as a Russian delegation via video conference. Master students presented the research topics of their final theses and received helpful feedback and advice. A major highlight of this summer school was the official confirmation to include Harbin University of Science and Technology from China in the partner network next year.
From July 9-11, 2014, young scientists from all over the world met for the fourth time in the building of the IBS Foundation in Lauta Laubusch to exchange ideas on topics from the fields of e-learning, embedded systems, and international cooperation in science and research, to present their current research work, and to build an international network. This year, 26 guests traveled from Germany, Russia, Mongolia, India, Ghana, China, Iraq and Bangladesh, among others. One of this year's highlights, besides the keynote speech by René Schmidt, research associate at the Chair of Digital and Circuit Technology, was the awarding of the best scientific paper on the topic "Computer Sign Language Interpreter of Russian Language" by Alexey Volyntsev by the expert jury around Prof. Dr. Wolfram Hardt. The paper deals with the recognition and interpretation of words and sentences written in Cyrillic script and their conversion into sign language for deaf people. Of course, the cultural part was not neglected this year either. Various community events were on the program - a visit to the cultural center, where the interesting history of the village with its transformation from a Sorbian village to a mining community could be understood, or a visit to the open pit mine Welzow, 20 km away, which is still active today and shows visitors the typical lignite mining in the region. Another highlight was the "Evening of Cultures" on Thursday, during which the participants presented their respective home countries and their special features with regard to culture, sights, typical dishes and much more. Prof. Dr. Wolfram Hardt, holder of the organizing Chair of Computer Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology, is also delighted with the steadily growing number of participants: "This is an encouraging trend, which shows us as the organizing team that the platform offered for intercultural knowledge transfer is becoming increasingly popular and offers the participants lasting benefits. This made it particularly easy for us to decide to host the Summer School again next year."
The international summer workshop held in IBS Foundation (Lauta/Laubusch) 16-19 July, 2013. The summer workshop dealt with the topics e-learning, embedded systems and international cooperation. The basis of the workshop was the cooperation between the Chemnitz University of Technology and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), which has existed since 2010. However, it was not only the Mongolian scientists who made a valuable contribution to the 2013 summer workshop in the form of lectures and discussions. Representatives from Novosibirsk State Technical University in Russia and Moolji Jaitha College in Jalgaon, India, also came to Chemnitz to promote international cooperation. The transnational cooperation was found to be very pleasant by all participants. For Vadim Nekrasov, Director of the Center for International Cooperation at Novosibirsk Technical University, the opportunities and benefits of the workshop were also clear: "Such a form of workshop has a lot of potential. This one was composed of three promising aspects - the meeting with other scientists, presentations by individual participants, and a cultural program." In addition to various presentations on the current state of research, this time there was also a book presentation. For example, Canadian researcher Dr. Valerie Ruhe spoke about her book "Evaluation in Distance Education and E-Learning: The Unfolding Model." The Chemnitz University of Technology has put together a varied program for its guests. This started on July 16 with a presentation of the university. Other highlights included a city tour of Chemnitz and a meeting with Prof. Dr. Wolfram Hardt, holder of the Chair of Computer Engineering. "While only Germany and Mongolia were represented at the first summer workshop, this year's participants also include representatives from India, Russia and Canada. I see this as a promising development in international cooperation," says Hardt.
The international summer workshop held in IBS Foundation (Lauta/Laubusch) 16-18 July, 2012. The summer workshop for the cooperation between the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Chemnitz and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), which has existed since 2010, is entering a new round. Already last year, scientists and students of MUST visited Chemnitz to advance the inter-university knowledge transfer in the field of computer science. In July 2012, scientists from MUST and also from the National University of Mongolia (NUM), together with employees of a local chip design company, paid another visit to the Faculty of Computer Science. The six Mongolians brought, besides interesting presentations for the workshop, also guests from their neighboring countries. Prof. Dr. Evgeny B. Tsoy, Prorector for International Relations at Novosibirsk State Technical University in Russia, and Dr. Hua Wang from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST) in China also came to Chemnitz for two weeks to get to know the university and make new contacts. The guests had the opportunity to get to know the Lusatian Lakeland in addition to lectures on computer science research. The highlight of the stay was certainly the excursion to the Energy Museum Knappenrode. On seven floors the history of the factory had to be explored.
